Located
in Cancun downtown, this park is a public place. There is no
admission fee and it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from
7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is safe for tourists and we highly recommend
this beautiful park, bring comfortable cotton shirt, tennis shoes,
short pants, hat and sun glasses (on rain season bring bug repellent). Walk through the jungle and see
the local flora and fauna, it is easy to see squirrels, raccoons,
possums, toucans, parrots and multicolored birds. The park is not
well promoted by travel agencies or tour operators because it is
free, this makes the place not be overcrowded, local people uses the park for jogging and amusement. On weekdays many schools has educational programs and take their students to the park to learn about the jungle and teach them to love and protect the environment, on Sundays it is common to see entire families to enjoy a close encounter with the nature in the heart of the city. |
|
There is a little museum dedicated to the foundation of Cancun city,
restrooms, crocodile pit, children playground, on the jungle paths
you can see a Mayan house, a pond with turtles, ducks and fishes. |
|
The
park belongs to the community and it is administrated by the city
government, it is safe, very clean and cared, no pets are allowed, no
restaurants inside the park so bring your own bottle of water. |
|
You
can easily spend around 2 hours in the park and see everything,
if you have children they will love this place. |
|
To
get the park take a cab and tell the driver you want to go to the
Parque Kabah in downtown, for sure he will know where
it is located. If not, tell him that it is in front of the school
Leonardo Da vinci or across the Mac Donald's restaurant of the Kabah Avenue. |
|
After
your visit to the park, within walking distance you can go to Comercial
Mexicana Supermarket, Costco, Plaza Las Americas Mall or Walmart where you can get a
taxi to return to your hotel or just take a bus to return to the hotel zone. |
